In politics, business and wider society, 'better' leadership and dialogue are seen as antidotes to the paradoxical issues of the modern world. Dialogues in Organizations illustrates how the compulsion for 'busyness', the entrenched assumptions about who leaders are (and what they should do) and the adherence to implicitly-held cultural norms threaten the possibility of effective dialogue in our organizations. The quality of the leader-follower encounter is examined using an action research approach.
